Description

Antique French Empire Style Crystal Basket Chandelier, with hundreds of original hand polished crystal beads & square amber crystals that reflect the light beautifully. Chandeliers such as this cast a beautiful elegant light over French chateaus in the 17th century. This early 1900's (art deco era) chandelier is a rare smaller size (8"inches wide × 18" inches tall). Perfect for a smaller room, entryway/ hallway, bedroom or even a guest bathroom.
This Lamp was made in Czechoslovakia, the premier makers of crystals for the French market. The brass metal frame features 2 rows of large square amber colored prisms while a matching faceted amber glass finial adorns the basket bottom.
Top and bottom halves of frame are held together by 3 brass thumb screws which can be quickly unscrewed for full access to the inside. This feature is necessary for proper maintenance in the action of internal cleaning, bulb replacement & adjustments/repairs.
Fixture comes complete with the original brass ceiling canopy & 24" inch drop chain. Fixture needs to be ceiling mounted & hardwired by an electrician to the current safety standards.
◼️CONDITION
This is a pre-owned 100 year old chandelier that has never been restored, deep cleaned or polished (only dusted/wiped off). All of the crystals & prism pins seem to be present & I cannot find any breaks or chips. Chandelier may benefit from a deep cleaning/polish if a more pristine refined look is desired.
I do see some  wear from age & regular use. Areas of the brass metal show slight darkening. This may simply be layers of dust & grime that have built up over the years or possible patina formation on the brass surface.
I see a few dents & bulges in the metal framwork located in the areas where the top & bottom halves are joined (please refer to images). Although difficult to notice, these areas could be straighten out with pliers & a steady hand if needed. I also see 1 slit in the metal frame which originates from one of the bolt openings. This break is completely hidden when the fixture is fully assembled & has no effect on the overall functionality or structural integrity of the chandelier (see photos)
Cosmetic flaws are reflected in the asking price & all can be viewed by zooming in on the provided images. Please make sure to review all of the photos & message me with any questions. Thanks for looking:)
