This is a Pre-Owned Smart Key/Keyless Entry Remote & it has been programmed to work with a specific vehicle, which means it is locked - Basically, all Preowned Smart Keys/Keyless Entry Remotes are locked, unless it specifically says that the remote has been "remanufactured" or "reflashed.". If the remote has been "remanufactured or reflashed" that means it has been returned to its original "virgin" state & it is ready to be programmed to any compatible vehicle. But, you need to have someone who is willing & able to remanufacture Smart Keys/Keyless Entry Remotes in order to do this. You can't count on Dealerships to do this, as most do not offer this service & will tell you the smart key/remote is locked and cannot be reprogrammed. There are locksmiths who offer this service - And, there are people on line who offer this service and one of them is "freshcarkeys.com." They have a quick turn around time, they are reasonably priced & they get the job done.

you make a decision, I just want you to know that having a preowned smart key/remote remanufactured will cost just a fraction of what it would cost to buy a brand new one from a dealership; but unless you know someone locally who offers this service, i.e -Locksmith, etc. - you're probably better off sending it out to one of the online places to get the job done.
